Richard (Ricky) Barkhouse went out with his girlfriend and some friends to celebrate his new life in Calgary: the couple was expecting their first child, they had just found the perfect home for their growing family and Barkhouse had gotten a new job. Drew Gregory Martineau and Simon Yuen — two men with ties to the FOB gang — got in an argument with the Nova Scotia native outside The Roadhouse bar on Jan. 23, 2006 and stabbed him to death. Both men pleaded guilty to the lesser offence of manslaughter, with Martineau receiving a five-year sentence and Yuen receiving a four-year term. The Roadhouse has since been closed and re-branded as Knoxville's Tavern

Brian Black Kettle worked in construction in Cold Lake, but took a trip to Calgary to visit his children. Not long after his arrival, the father of five died in hospital on July 27, 2014. Police say a man struck Black Kettle in an “unprovoked attack” at a downtown park and left him unconscious. In January 19, 2006, Dean Commanda stabbed his best friend, Chad Largy to death. He then dismembered his body in his apartment bathroom, leaving two of Largy's arms in a dumpster to be found by a homeless man who was looking for bottles. The man found one of the arms and went to a nearby apartment to tell it's resident what he had discovered and to get the police to the scene. Another arm was found in the dumpster by police. The house looked nothing like it looks now. I was just a rental, with only 2 floors inhabited. We would be sitting downstairs in the living room and hear, continually, something heavy being pulled across the floor upstairs. None of the residents were upstairs whenever this happened. On September 23, 2007, Rochelle MANGUINAO (A.K.A – Ziggy PECSON) had attended the Plush Lounge at 100 - 205 9 Avenue SE for a birthday party. At approximately 2:05 hours, MANGUINAO was taken outside by a group of males and an argument ensued. During the argument, MANGUINAO was attacked by the unknown suspects and was fatally stabbed by one of the attackers. Ziggy was a local DJ. The Plush Lounge has since been closed. View Listing »
