18-year-old Fatally shot after breaking into home; Jeff Morris was killed after breaking into this home on November 24, 1989. Kenneth G. Kalagian, 46, was the homeowner who shot him. Kalagian said he woke up from a nap around 4:30 p.m. and saw a man placing objects in a pillowcase. When Kalagian reached for his gun, the bandit threw the pillowcase at him and ran. Kalagian told police he chased him and fired five times, hitting the man once. Police were called to find Morris bleeding out in a rock garden in front of the home. He was taken to the hospital where he later died. Two other burglars were arrested, and Kalagian was cleared in the shooting.
