29-year-old Wesley Westcott was fatally stabbed in the neck during a drug deal gone wrong on July 13, 2014 by 40-year-old Terry Hansen. Westcott was the friend of a woman who sold Hansen and his brother some drugs, but Hansen and his brother claimed the drugs sold to them were fake because they didn't give that much of a high. Hansen and his brother agreed to meet up at the woman's grandmother's vacant property. The woman invited her friend Wesley Westcott because she was afraid Hansen and his brother might try something. The four met up and decided to go to the house of the person who sold the woman the drugs. The woman told the other 3 men that she needed to use the restroom first and so she went into the house while the other three stayed in the driveway. However at this point, Terry Hansen was already agitated. He thought the entire thing was a set up, especially because he didn't know Westcott. Hansen claimed that Westcott was offering him coffee, and that he thought Westcott was going to throw the hot coffee in his face. Because of this, Hansen then pulled out a knife and fatally stabbed Westcott in the neck multiple times while Westcott was sitting in his vehicle. He then slashed the tires of the vehicle as well before getting in his own vehicle and driving away with his brother. Police were called out to the location after the woman came back from the restroom and discovered Westcott dead. Hansen was arrested a couple days later and charged with first-degree murder.
