Bassam Raad, a man suspected of having connections with individuals who traveled to Syria for combat, was escorted from Broadmeadows police station after being charged with murder. Police conducted a search for evidence at his family home on Cohuna Street, Broadmeadows. Raad, accused of killing his wife and assaulting his three children, claimed in court to be a caring father who simply wants to be with his kids. The house has since been demolished and replaced with villas.
