According to reports, Jay Ernest Grahlman, 38, and his daughter Jaymie, 6, both died of injuries resulting from an arson fire in their home. At the time of the fire, Jay’s girlfriend, Vickie Reed, 32, Reed’s daughters, Kylie Reed, 9, Nicole Reed, 7, and Grahlman’s youngest daughter, Ida Mae Grahlman, 3 safely escaped. Jay ran back inside to find Jaymie resulting in deadly burns. Firefighters found Jaymie unconscious in the house's bathtub. Family friend and neighbor Brian Zirtzman, 39, became a suspect of the arson when it was discovered that he had set two fires as a teenager. He was charged with two counts of first-degree murder and one count of first-degree arson. Zirtzman had an IQ of 67 and was considered intellectually disabled. The jury acquitted Zirtman after witnesses claimed he was likely coached into a confession. To date, no one has been charged with the homicides or arson.
