Double murder-suicide. Florence Pomares came home from work at 9 p.m where she found her 7-year-old son, Hugo, and 5-year-old daughter, Elise, slain by their father inside their bungalow. Her husband, Jonathan Pomares, 40, had murdered the children, before taking his own life. The bodies of the two children were found on different floors in the home. The brutality of their murder was such that the first officers arriving at the home were pulled off the investigation and offered psychological assistance, said Montreal police spokesperson Constable Manuel Couture.
