Billy Ray Martin, 61, who told police he beat his wife to death pleaded not guilty to her murder. He said that he beat his wife, Lou Ellen Martin, to death "because there were entities inside her body he needed to get out." The police report said her body was found in the patio of their home, concealed under a comforter. Police found a handgun and a note threatening violence against others in the home.
