The body of Andrew DaCosta, 19, was discovered in his home at 199 Zia Dodda Crescent in 2012. He had been stabbed multiple times. Police say that DaCosta had been dead for some time before he was discovered, but they did not elaborate on how long. Police eventually ruled the death as a homicide. Three years later, Dwayne Gordon, 23, who was, at one time, DaCosta's friend, was charged with the murder.

Police say at 12:50 a.m. March 8, four bullets were shot into a home on Woodbridge's Woodstream Boulevard. This is the most recent in a spate of incidents involving people shooting at or into homes in Vaughan, Markham, Richmond Hill, Newmarket and Aurora.
