Colorado Community Media Jennifer Lee-Renee Wend, 36, was arrested Friday evening and charged with first-degree murder, said Skip Arms, spokesman for the Colorado Springs police. Adamson reportedly threatened to shoot Wend's dog, Arms said. The police originally heard about the case when Adamson's relatives or friends called Jan. Wend told the visitor that she did not know where Adamson was, the friend told police. A resident with a house overlooking the site who did not want to be named said Friday afternoon that he had not seen any suspicious activity in the past several weeks. Riber said he had reason to believe the murder was committed in Colorado Springs, and therefore the case is being handled by Colorado Springs investigators. Investigators said they would perform an autopsy to confirm that the body was Adamson.
