In July 1981, four people were bludgeoned to death as they slept in the house at 8763 Wonderland Avenue and the prime suspect was legendary porn star John Holmes. The victims were Joy Miller, 46; her boyfriend, William R. DeVerell, 44; Ronald Launius, 37, and Barbara Richardson, 22, a house guest. The victims had been bludgeoned to death. The house was a notorious drug den and the inhabitants were part of the "Wonderland Gang", a group of prominent drug dealers active in the cocaine scene during the late 70's and early 80's. Holmes would later report that Eddie Nash, a nightclub owner and crime figure, orchestrated the murders seeking revenge for a robbery on his own property two nights prior. Reportedly, Holmes was a henchman for Nash.
