A husband and wife were found dead in their home Wednesday, victims of an apparent murder-suicide. Authorities believe Diane Pittman Price, 61, shot and killed her husband, Robert Carl Price, 61, and then turned the gun on herself. The two were found dead from gunshot wounds at 2:23 p.m. on Wednesday in their home at 8257 Addison Drive, Harrisburg, after Cabarrus County Sheriff’s Office deputies were contacted concerning their welfare, Sheriff Brad Riley said on Thursday. A caller from Robert Price's employer, Robert El Mason Co. of Charlotte, told the sheriff's office they were concerned because no one had heard from Price for a few days. After repeated attempts to get someone to the door at the Price home, deputies forced their way in and found the couple dead. "There did not appear to be any signs of a physical altercation between the two, and it appeared that Mr. Price was in the bed just prior to the shooting," stated a press release from the sheriff's office. Riley said deputies recovered a handgun at the scene. Riley said the bodies had been there a few days, and people who knew the couple called when they hadn’t heard from them.
