On New Year's Day in 2003, family members of pregnant 19-year-old Nikia Kilpatrick went to check on her after not hearing from her for several days. Kilpatrick lived in a first-floor unit (#D110) at the Spanish Oaks Apartments. Her family found her body in the bedroom. Kilpatrick had been raped and strangled with a cord. Her 2 and 1-year-old children were also in the apartment, alive but malnourished. Kilpatrick was one of at least 7 victims of the serial killer Paul Durousseau. Durousseau was also found responsible for the murders of Tyresa Mack and Denise McCalister. The locations of these murders are also recorded on Housecreep.
