Murder-suicide. Two children, Alyson Mather, 12, and Ruthie Mather, 9, and their mother, Cynthia Mather, were found dead after an explosion at their home. The father, Jeffrey Mather, 43, who poured gasoline throughout the home, also died in the explosion. Both children were suffocated, but there was no indication of smoke inhalation. The mother was found to have died from an overdose of Prozac, though it was not determined whether she was poisoned, or committed suicide. Jeffrey's body was found on the first floor next to a gas can. It is believed he set fire to the home on the first floor, while the other three were on the second floor. Jeff Mather had previously attempted suicide in December after his role changed at his job at Swagelok in Solon.
