Man shot to death: OBrien, William - Age 25 - Clerk in County Recorders Office. Fatally shot at 7:50 AM, 11/20/29, in his home, 7328 So. Maplewood Ave., by Samuel Howard Dorr of the same address, when he returned home at an unexpected time. Dorr and Mrs. OBrien had been together all night in her bedroom. As OBrien was entering his own bedroom Dorr opened fire at him. On 11/22/29 Dorr and Mrs. OBrien were held by the Coroner. They confessed to having conspired to get rid of their spouses. 16 Dist. 1/23/30 - Mrs. OBrien acquitted - Miller. 2/8/30 - Dorr to Joliet Pen. For life - Miller.
