Christopher Neal, 22, was shot and killed by William Paul Jones, 35, who broke into this homen the midst of a mental health crisis. Neal was shot and killed in a standoff with police, while 3 officers were wounded.

At about 10 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 1, police responded to a reported home invasion at a house on the 6300 block of Proctor Avenue in Comstock Township. Arriving officers were quickly confronted with a suspect who had taken residents of the address hostage. A homeowner was killed during the incident, according to police. As officers made entry into the residence, the suspect fired several times striking three officers who suffered non-life-threatening injuries. The suspect attempted to flee out of the residence, was apprehended and is in custody.
