Fire at 574 Yonge Street Toronto: Glen Cole, CityPulse at 6, May 12, 1982: "Toronto firemen responded to a fire call shortly after 7:00 this morning at a three story restaurant apartment building at 574 YONGE [STREET]. The chief requested a help call, and a total of eight pieces of apparatus and two chiefs, including Command 40 with platoon chief Jimmy Vincent [sp?] responded. The cause of the fire was grease in a vent shaft. A total of $9800 damage done to the restaurant, and about $1000 damage tot he contents of the building next door. One firefighter received a cut wrist and was treated at hospital."
