In 1982, Brighton housewife Cathleen Krauseneck was killed by an ax blow to her head while her 3 year-old daughter was home. The grisly murder rocked the community and remains unsolved.The hardwood floors have been refinished, the roof is newer and the windows have been replaced. She was found by her husband, James, when he arrived home from work a little before 5 P.M., the police said. An ax with a two-and-a-half-foot handle was in her skull. The ax had been taken from the couple's garage, the police said.
