49-year-old Jerry Tapp shot and killed in the front lawn of his home on August 1, 2019, his girlfriend 32-year-old Cassie Tennison was also nonfatally shot in the wrist. The shooting was perpetrated by 48-year-old James Buzzard, who along with his two sons Cody, 27, and Dakota, 18, waited for Tapp to get home before ambushing him and shooting him. The killing was suspected to be in retaliation for when Tapp shot at a truck being driven by James Buzzard in 2015, and James' 11-year-old daughter was hit with gunfire. The 11-year-old luckily survived however. All 3 were arrested shortly after the murder.
