Karen, 52, and her son, Jeffrey Costa, 22, were both found dead with obvious signs of trauma at a home in the Yonge Street and Highway 7 area. It is believed that Karen Costa was fatally wounded when she tried to prevent her son from harming himself. Her son, Jeffrey, had been battling mental health issues, the family said in a written statement.
