A 19-year-old Edmond man is in police custody after allegedly shooting his parents to death early Monday morning, said Jenny Wagnon, Edmond Police spokeswoman. Police arrived at 2601 N. Bryant Ave. to secure the crime scene at which time Michael Elijah Walker was placed under arrest and faces two counts of murder in the first degree. Found inside the home deceased are: Michael Logan Walker, 50; and Rachel May Walker, 44. They died of multiple gunshot wounds, according to detectives, and a Glock model 17, 9mm handgun was found on a mattress. In total, 19 spent 9mm shell casings were found inside the residence. Officials believe the suspect reloaded the gun during the incident due to the gun's magazine capacity of 17. The 17-year-old sibling told police his brother often carried the gun around the house "because he is paranoid." According to the affidavit, Michael Walker, the suspect, told the 17-year-old "he shot their parents because they were sending him messages telepathically and they were Satan worshipers," adding that "everything was okay, and he would bury the bodies." He told police his parents did not harm him, and said his father only grabbed onto his legs and told him to give him the gun. When asked if he would do it again, he allegedly told police he would and that he believed he did the right thing. The suspect’s sister, Ashten Belle West, wrote in a Facebook post Monday that her brother suffers from schizophrenia and “was not and has not been in the right state of mind for a few years now.” “Mental illness is real,” she wrote in the post. “I will ALWAYS love him no matter what. He is a victim as well.”
