A Deltona man was charged late Saturday just hours after the body of his pregnant former wife was found buried in his back yard. Police discovered the body of Angelica Garner, 23, under a newly poured concrete slab at the Deltona home of Michael Garner. The woman, who was nine months' pregnant with her fiance's child, had been missing since Wednesday. Deputies who served a search warrant early Saturday at Garner's home, 2442 Coachman Drive, discovered the woman's body underneath 4 to 6 inches of dirt topped with a fresh inch of cement. Police charged Garner, 25, with first-degree murder in the death of his ex-wife and manslaughter in the death of the fetus. The cause of death has not been released. Police have sealed off Michael Garner's home. Angel Garner and her fiance, Todd Schirner, lived together, and he last saw her Wednesday morning when she headed out to a doctor's appointment. Before she went to the appointment, she dropped off her 2-year-old son, Tyler, with Michael Garner, the boy's father. Her car later was found less than a mile from Garner's home. Angel Garner and Schirner, of Sanford, planned to marry Nov. 30.
