The Denver Post Online 23 - The discovery of a body in a boat raised the number of homicides in Colorado Springs to 25 so far this year, making 1999 the second-deadliest year for homicides in the city's history. Police found the body of Joshua Nathaniel Kriley, 15, in a boat parked outside the home. Though police initially received information that the victim died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, investigation revealed that someone else killed Kriley. Kriley was shot with a .22-caliber handgun, which police expected to find late Monday.
