Vancouver police office Leonard Raymond Hogue shot his wife, his six children, and then himself, in the family home at this address. The bodies were found the following day by police, who came to the house after Hogue failed to report to work. Peering through a basement window, they saw five-year-old Darlene Hogue, shot through the back of the head. They forced open the back door and found 8-year-old Raymond Hogue in the bathroom, also shot in the head. Cliff Hogue, 8, was found in a utility closet next to the bathroom, also shot in the head. Larry Hogue, 14, was found in the first upstairs bedroom, on top of a bunk bed. He had been shot twice. Leonard's wife Irene Hogue, was found face down on the bed in the master bedroom. She had been shot in the back of the head. Leonard was found on the floor nearby with a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. The body of 3-year-old Richard was found in the room across the hall. And Noreen, 12, was found in the basement along with her sister, Darlene.
