Quoted from original police record: Man shot to death: Schultz, John - Age 56 - Patrolman, 33rd Pct. - Shot to death by an unknown man whom he encountered in passageway of his home at 1331 Hollywood Ave. It is believed the man was there to commit burglary of 1st flat and was surprised by the officer. 33 Pct.
