On September 1, 1982, Gary Lee Carter was discovered deceased at his residence located at 12220 E. 38th Street. The victim had sustained a gunshot wound. Items were taken from the victim's residence along with the victim's vehicle, which was later recovered burnt. It appeared that robbery was the motive. The case remains unsolved.
