Drifter gets life for 'brutal killing': A deeply disturbed drifter has been sentenced to life imprisonment for fatally stabbing a total stranger in a North York apartment. The death of Robert Third, 44, was "a brutal killing" caused by multiple stab wounds, Mr. Justice David Watt said yesterday in Ontario Court, general division. Anthony Degasperis, 29, pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in Third's death on Dec. 12, 1992. Third was discovered bleeding in his Parkway Forest Dr. apartment and was pronounced dead in North York General Hospital about an hour later. - Toronto Star (Jan 18, 1994)
