James Bing Jun Louie received a life sentence with no chance of parole for 18 years after a judge convicted him of two counts of second-degree murder in the deaths of his children and attempted murder of his wife. James strangled his 13-year-old son Jason with a rope, suffocated his nine-year-old daughter Jane likely with a pillow, and tried to kill his wife Ying Tang with a rope at the family’s Panorama Hills home on Nov. 27, 2009, before police intervened. Court heard the husband and wife were having marital issues and had separated shortly before the slayings.
