    The Farley family had a garden in the front yard. One afternoon, as 14 yr old Zelma got off the school bus, her father Henry shot her mother Mable to death with a rifle as she picked tomatoes. Zelma grabbed at her father but he then shot himself to death. Online sources say the current house was built (or rebuilt?) in 1958 but the crime happened in the front yard, no matter what house was in the footprint in 1950.

    James Gambrell was visiting his mother at this address. His uncle, John Mills, came over. Mills had alleged that Gambrell stole his tools two years prior. An argument erupted: Mills shot Gambrell in the front yard. The bullet passed through his arm into his torso. Gambrell stumbled inside and died on his mother’s kitchen floor.

    29 year old Fred Lakes died of a revolver shot to the head by Anthony Bullock on the front porch of his home. Anthony’s friend Ernest Patrick was struggling with Mr. Lakes over Lakes’ shotgun at the time. Bullock served 8 years in prison.

    Dr Richard Warn was shot to death by his two adult sons, Michael and Mark, who did not live at the home. Police had to force open the door after a call from Dr Warn’s wife, who was returning from a trip and had no keys. The police tracked the sons to the home their father had purchased for them at 4362 Elmwood Ave. in South Euclid. A SWAT team was finally able to gain entry, finding the sons dead in a double suicide. Testimony supports the fact that the sons were mentally ill.

    Jeane Harrington murdered her husband, Michael Gabel, at their home, then tried to convince police it was a suicide. Jeane admitted to using a stun gun on Gabel about 20 times as they argued over finances. Police found Gabel lying on a couch in the den where he slept with plastic wrap wrapped around his bloody head. The Lorain County Coroner's Office said Gabel's cause of death was asphyxia and other "conditions of blunt impact to the head, trunk, extremities and electrical burns."

Housecreep was launched in 2013 by two brothers from Canada. Our aim is to encourage disclosure in the real estate industry, and to help home buyers and renters make informed decisions.
