    The serial killer Dennis Rader, known as BTK, walked into Kathryn Bright's house at 3217 E. 13th St. There, Rader ran into Bright's brother, Kevin. Rader had the 19-year-old tie up his sister. After a struggle, Rader shot Kevin in the head. But Kevin escaped the home and lived. When Rader failed in strangling 21-year-old Bright, he said, he stabbed her. She later died in hospital.

    Police found four bodies inside the one-story wood-frame home: Joseph Otero, 38; Julie Otero, 34; Josephine Otero, 11; and Joseph Otero Jr., 9.     Man found dead of drug overdose: On September 15, 1974 Robert Monroe Norris age 50 was found dead at his home at 1105 Gounah, in Fort Worth Texas. Autopsy results show that he had overdosed on the drug Darvon. He had been dead about two days before he was found. Nicholas Herrera, 52, a disabled WWII veteran, was found beaten to death on 1105 Gounah St. on the morning of June 3, 1976.

    In 1974 this building housed the Warner Cafe. In the early morning hours Ellis Shelton, wearing a stocking mask and carrying a sawed off shotgun, and his masked but unarmed associate, entered the bar to rob the business. An off duty Pinkerton Detective named Lloyd Adkins grappled with Shelton while another customer did the same with the other robber. Shelton shot and killed Adkins. He was sentenced to death, reduced to life in prison, and paroled after 14 years.

    On November 7, 1974, Sandra Rivett went downstairs to the basement kitchen of this six-story London townhouse to make tea for her employer, Lady Veronica Lucan and never returned. The nanny was found bludgeoned to death in the cellar, supposedly by Lord Lucan – who disappeared without a trace. To this day, the house remains occupied with house values on the road reaching up to £5 million.

In 1975, George and Kathleen Lutz moved into the property, along with their three children.
